  1. Re: Thursday’s bike incident… Mission & S. Van Ness don’t intersect. So where did this happen?

    1. Mission and South Van Ness do intersect actually, just not in the Mission district. Try one block south of Market street instead, in SOMA. I’m guessing the mission police district extends to there though (just like it also includes much of noe valley), and that’s why this is being reported here.

  2. Nathan: The SWAT team arrested a couple of people at a house on Folsom near 21st. It was a fairly large operation with an armored vehicle and well over a dozen SWAT guys. I believe the explosion we all felt was a flash bang grenade that they tossed into the house at the start of the operation. One of the guys arrested didnt want to come out so there was a standoff for around an hour.

    1. I took photos from my back window. There had to be over a dozen in the swat teams that looked like ninjas. Saw a dog and figured it was a drug bust. Hopefully not a med lab. Heard the explosion. In the end they finally entered the basement. It’s a family owned home that now houses adult children & possibly friends that don’t work and do drugs.

  3. Any word on what went down on Folsom St. between 21st and 22nd Wednesday morning around 7:00am? My housemates and I on 21st heard (and felt) a loud boom (possibly an explosion?) at 7:00am,, 6/5. Heavily armed SFFD were all over the 21st/Folsom intersection, blocking traffic. Lots of yelling ensued. Traffic was restored by 8:15am, with 3 SFFD cruisers still in the Northbound Folsom lanes near 21st.

    1. SF SWAT raided the house on 2515 Folsom at 7 am. They used a flash bomb after breaking down the door. They took out what looked like about 10 to 15 people. They released some of the people who live at the house and took some away. Animal control took a miniature pincher and maybe a pitbull. No shots were fired but since SWAT was fully equipped, which makes me think it was more than a drug bust. Also observed on the scene was San Bruno Police, no FBI or DEA were apparently present.

K sums it up. I don’t think the house is a meth lab, but the house is family owned and is a crash pad for local drunks and drug addicts. It appears some children live there as well. They stay up all night doing drugs, often shouting at each other in the streets when they are drunk.
