A man was robbed at 1:10 a.m. at 23rd and York streets when a suspect approached him and brandished a gun. Two other men took the victim’s cell phone. The three suspects fled on foot.

At 1:26 a.m., a second robbery with a gun occurred at 19th and Florida streets when a suspect approached four men and brandished a gun. The suspect demanded property and then fled on foot, but was apprehended and arrested after a brief pursuit.
Saturday
Police received a report from a victim that he was stabbed with a knife on Mission and 16th streets at 3:35 a.m. The victim would not provide any further information.
Sunday
A 30 year-old man was robbed with a knife at 11:30 p.m. The victim was drinking beer with two suspects at Bartlett and 22nd streets when one suspect brandished a knife and demanded the man’s property. The man refused and the other suspect forced him to the ground.
The first suspect held a knife to the victim’s throat while the other kicked the victim and then took his wallet, cash and phone from his pockets. The suspects fled on foot.
Yes, I live in the Mission and I’ve seen the police enforce sit/lie in this neighborhood. You can bet they don’t enforce it against well to do people in the Marina. Even if it were only enforced in the Haight, it is still a law criminalizing poverty. I stand by my comment. Where are homeless people supposed to urinate and defecate?

Sorry, those laws aren’t enforced in our neighborhood, just like all the other quality of life preserving laws.
“Quality of life preserving laws” is code for laws against poor people like sit/lie.
As Anatole France wrote, “The law, in its majestic equality, forbids the rich as well as the poor to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal bread.”
No, it’s code for people shouldn’t be allowed to urinate and defecate all over the streets or stumble around drinking in public harassing passers-by, it has nothing to do with class. Do you even live in the Mission? The only place in the city sit/lie is enforced at all is in the Haight.
