It’s 7 a.m. and 56º, headed to 67º. There will be clouds again in the morning, but sun by late afternoon.

Suspended San Francisco Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi will keep his job after the Board of Supervisors voted seven to four to remove him, falling short of the nine votes required. Mirkarimi pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor earlier this year after a New Year’s Eve incident in which he grabbed and bruised his wife’s arm.

If you want another reason to love San Francisco, it seems that kids in this city are better off than those in California’s other 57 counties when it comes to health, academics and overall well-being, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

It wasn’t pretty, but the San Francisco Giants managed to survive for another day, scoring just twice, on a sacrifice fly and an error, to beat the Cincinnati Reds 2-1. The A’s also won, beating the Tigers 2-0.
