The Washington City Paper recently reported on a community panel concerning gentrification in the nation’s capitol. The dialogue got contentious, with one participant stating that DC has been “invaded” by predominantly white newcomers. The event was hosted in the city’s historic U Street corridor at a restaurant called Busboys and Poets, which will be opening a new location some 3,000 miles away, right here in the Mission. Will local residents enjoy the same kind of real talk about how this neighborhood is changing?

Very excited about the opening of this venue! Busboys and Poets was one of my favorite spots when I lived in DC and now to have one in the Mission where I live is beyond exciting!
Hey Bob,
The new restaurant will be at 2555 Mission Street, where Cine Latino is.
Thanks!
Where is the new restaurant? I wonder will they serve food or is it mostly a place to talk about racial politics and stopping the “white invaders.”
