Bloomberg Businessweek reports on a Mission beer brewer who has decided to expand his craft by opening shop in New York.

The article reports that when he made his first batch of beer in 1996, it quickly sold out:

Beer lover Jeremy Cowan hadn’t ever brewed a single batch of beer when he launched his craft beer company, Shmaltz Brewing, out of his Mission District loft in San Francisco in 1996…

The Kosher-certified beer sold out in three weeks at high-end grocery stores in the Bay Area.
