A couple of months back a source told me he had seen the feds filming at Dolores Park. It sounded very big-brotherish to follow through with it right away.

Kate Conger of SF Weekly, however, found that indeed the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA) is collaborating with the San Francisco Police Department to record officers interacting with locals.

What do they do with the data? Acccording to SF Weekly, DARPA wants to examine people’s “interaction skills” to develop a military training simulator.
