The 60-year-old woman’s only crime was riding Muni’s 14 Mission line at 8:30 a.m. One imagines that on a Wednesday morning she was going to work. As the bus moved toward Mission and 17th streets, two suspects — 18ish — pulled knives on her. They sat on either side of her and placed the blade against her clothing.

One said something to her, but the victim did not speak English and she didn’t know how to respond, said Sgt. Daryl Fong.

So they rifled through her pockets.

They found a garage opener and some cash. Maybe they thought the opener was a new kind of cellphone because they took it — and the cash — before fleeing.

The victim later reported the crime to police.

No arrests have been made.
