Hog & Rocks will be holding a benefit to help the family of Gaspar “Tio” Puch-tzek, a line cook who was mistaken for a gang member and killed on Aug. 30 while outside on a smoke break.

The event will take place at Hog & Rocks on Sept. 17 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Maverick Manager Andrew Dombrowski said he went to talk to 48 restaurants around the city to ask for donations and has received gift certificates from several businesses. Donations will go towards a silent auction that will be held at Hog & Rocks, Maverick’s sister restaurant. All proceeds will go to Puch-tzek’s family.

If you wish to donate cash, you can stop by Hog & Rocks at 3431 19th Street, send money through Paypal to  drink@hogandrocks.com with Donation with in the subject line, or go to a Wells Fargo branch and ask to make a donation to account number 3114477635 (under the name of Francisco Puch-tzek).
