Today’s the Mission Community Market, which is an excellent chance to buy organic veggies while meeting all sorts of neighborhood characters. It’s from 4 to 8 p.m. every Thursday, at 22nd and Bartlett.
The nice thing about having a farmers market right in the Mission is the way that connections form and people get to know each other over time, since most of those who shop there seem to live in the neighborhood.
Anyway, we’ll be there, as usual. Recently we’ve acquired a three-and-a-half-year-old, whose mom works at one of the stands nearby. He’s great. He is adamant that he is extremely mature and most definitely not a baby.
