It’s 7:38 a.m., 53°, and we’re headed for 65°. Bright, and windy. You know the drill. Details are here.

You knew cherries were in season, right? Cherries are in season. And you have just enough time to stuff yourself with artichokes and asparagus before they go out of season. Brief shout-out to the Civic Center Farmer’s Market, which is on Sundays, very affordable and an interesting scene. Also a brief shout-out to Mission Pie, which says it has some peach pie going on.

Speaking of which, Forage SF says it got a “cease and desist” letter from the SF Health Department. So maybe no more Underground Markets? They’ve been so heavily attended that maybe “Aboveground Bake Sale Monster Rally” would be more appropriate.

The Chron reports that Jeff Adachi was told to leave the funeral for the two firefighters this past Friday. Some say it’s all about pensions for city workers, but it’s also worth noting that Adachi has made investigating police misconduct a huge priority during his term, and police and firefighters are closely linked in this town.

Also: Former Mission Loc@l writer Wes Enzinna (he’s now an associate editor at the Oxford American) writes about John Ross in the literary journal n +1. Ross, one of the great old-school lefty bohemian radicals of the Mission, died in Mexico this past January.
