A thief grabbed a man’s bag from a bench on the corner of 16th and Mission streets at around 11:40 p.m. on Thursday, according to police. The victim had left the bag momentarily unattended.
The victim chased the fleeing suspect and confronted him. The suspect then struck the victim on the head with his elbow and ran off with the bag. The victim was not seriously injured and no arrests have been made.
