Today’s Mission stories show us there is a thin line between art and life. While art couples may be a rare find in the collaborative scene Justin Juul proves “art lovers” are flourishing in the Mission District. Meet three cute and cooky couples here.

Wondering what’s next in the photo art scene? Bay Area musician Renee de la Prade told the Oakland Tribune she got an idea for an accordion babes photo calendar after spending time in the Mission district.

Since then de la Prade has produced the 2010 West Coast Accordion Babes Pin-Up Calendar.

“It’s not Playboy or the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition. But you have to hand it to a woman who can make a picture with an accordion look sexy.”

But what is art? Is art, art? Dress code columnist Shalwah Evans latest fashion update points to the shoes as the muse. Always practical, Shalwah name-drops the best Mission stores to buy a sturdy pair of rain boots and also negotiate prices.

Moving on we remind you that borrowing money from a payday lender is no joke. We recently published part III in our Pay Day loan series showing it is not uncommon for Mission District residents, especially undocumented immigrants to get caught up in debt while trying to pay the bills.

But wait, help might be on the way. On December 17th at 11:30a.m., San Francisco City leaders, in partnership with local credit unions, will help relieve this burden on hardworking San Franciscans by launching Payday Plus SF, a low cost emergency loan available to City residents at 13 locations. (Thanks for the heads up Mission Mission)

We leave you with a photo of the Mission on a gloomy day by local photographer Potential Past. Very artsy, don’t you think?
