Eighteen-year-old Uluao Mase was charged today in the Oct. 5 beating of young actor Christopher Borgzinner, 18. Borgzinner was riding the 9-San Bruno Muni bus to an acting class when four men, ignoring his denial of gang affiliation, badly beat him and stole his wallet, reported the Chronicle. Borgzinner suffered broken facial bones and other injuries.

Mase pleaded not guilty to charges of robbery, assault and several counts related to possession of a loaded gun. The robbery and assault charges carry allegations that the defendant caused great bodily injury to the victim.

Two juvenile suspects also remain in custody in juvenile court.

The three suspects were arrested on Oct. 16 by Bayview officers with the help of a clear photo from the bus’s camera, said the Chronicle.

Mase’s bail is set at $200,000 and a preliminary hearing date is scheduled for Nov. 2.
