It’s Friday, and not a moment too soon.

Today, Lily Mihalik profiles several members of the Mission’s Arab community. And Alissa Figueroa talks to Mission business owners about a new proposal to extend parking meter hours in the neighborhood.

Speaking of streets,  the Chron ran this article yesterday about vehicle collisions with pedestrians. But the SF Streetsblog objects, saying the story blames the victim and distorts facts. Your thoughts?

Meanwhile, Muni Diaries talks to the woman who broke up a fight between two women on the bus last week.

And here’s an interview with Adam Pfahler, one of the founders of Lost Weekend. Topics covered: why cops almost shot the store’s Han Solo cutout, love connections in the video store, and how cookies make late fees disappear.

Plus, you’ve got two chances for street eats in the Mission tomorrow night — find Soul Cocina, Adobo Hobo and Sweet Cart,  at Fabric8 on 22nd and Valencia from 6-8pm, and at the Monkey Club at 21st and Bryant from 10pm on.

After dinner, take in some Andean music and dance at the Brava Theater tonight.

And The New York Times launches its Bay Area edition today.
