The dinners originated in the 1800s with President Thomas Jefferson. \nOur topic this evening: Is America Descending into Fascism? \nWe’ll explore this timely and urgent question through thoughtful discussion and shared readings. \nQuestions to unpack include: \n• What are the signs of rising fascism in modern America and how do they compare to historical examples? \n• How does political polarization\, disinformation\, and erosion of democratic norms contribute to this threat? \n• What roles do citizens\, institutions\, and movements play in resisting authoritarianism and preserving democracy? \nDinner will include a delicious buffet with meat\, gluten free and vegan options.
