SUMMARY:GLBT History Museum: The Castro: The Story of San Francisco's Best-Known LGBTQ+ Neighborhood
DESCRIPTION:$10 admission; Free for GLBT Historical Society Members \nRSVP and reserve tickets here\nhttps://glbthistory.ticketing.veevartapp.com/tickets/view/list/the-castro-the-story-of-san-franciscos-bestknown-lgbtq-neighborhood \nHow did the world-renowned Castro neighborhood come to be known as the most prominent “gayborhood” in San Francisco? How do we trace the evolution and transformation of Eureka Valley\, a sleepy\, Irish Catholic residential neighborhood to the Castro as a center of LGBTQ+ activism\, business\, and community in the Bay Area? \nAuthors Jen Reck and Gerard Koskovich present their new booklet\, The Castro: The Story of San Francisco’s Best-Known LGBTQ+ Neighborhood. They will be joined by Tina V. Aguirre\, director of the Castro LGBTQ+ Cultural District\, and Devin McGeehan Muchmore\, managing reference archivist at the GLBT Historical Society\, who’ll discuss the roles of their organizations in bringing the project to fruition. \nThe Castro traces the history of this celebrated “gayborhood” back to the 1950s\, focusing on LGBTQ+ community-building\, cultural production and political engagement; on forces of opposition that targeted the neighborhood for attack; and on struggles around diversity\, exclusion and belonging within the community itself. Copies of the publication will be available for purchase and signing.

SUMMARY:Brick & Mortar Music Hall: Goldenvoice presents PRYVT with J.Y.N
DESCRIPTION:Goldenvoice presents\nPRYVT\nwith J.Y.N\nApril 10\, 2026 9:00 pm PDT (Doors: 8:00 pm )\nBrick and Mortar Music Hall \, 1710 Mission Street \, San Francisco\, CA (map) \nFormed on Discord in 2023\, atmospheric indie rock band PRYVT launched their career with a highly unusual feat\, amassing more than 20 million streams\, landing on Spotify’s Viral 50 charts in several countries\, and opening for one of South Korea’s biggest indie rock band wave to earth\, all before the members had ever even met in person. \nWhile PRYVT’s whirlwind rise may have happened in the blink of an eye\, the band’s captivating debut\, &SCENE\, is a measured and deliberate affair. The music is lush and dreamy\, built on hazy\, reverb-soaked guitars and hypnotic\, laidback grooves\, and the production is mesmerizing to match\, with ‘s breathy\, intimate vocals always front and center in the mix. At times\, the lyrics slip between English and Korean\, but the emotions they convey transcend language\, and the result is more than just an album; it’s a borderless sonic world to get lost in\, an immersive\, cinematic blend of alt-rock and bedroom pop that erases time and distance\, allowing millions of listeners to find each other and themselves -in the process.

SUMMARY:18 Reasons: Spring Tapas - Online
DESCRIPTION:Tapas is not a set of recipes; it is a way of life in Spain. Tapas means sharing food and time at the table. We eat tapas together with friends\, colleagues\, and loved ones; never alone. Tapas humbly celebrates the end of a working day or a long week. Sharing tapas means “we did it” and are together for the most important part of life: bonding. \nIn this class\, we’ll celebrate connection with an emphasis on spring\, when some of Camila’s favorite produce is at its best. Springtime brings freshness and color and is a time for tenderness and opening up. The simple act of shelling fresh peas together will slow us down in the tapas style of Spain. \nJoin Chef Camila as she streams from her home kitchen in Barcelona. Registrants will have access to a high-quality class video to rewatch as many times as they wish! She meets and falls in love with Luis just as her career is taking off\, forcing her to make choices in situations she doesn’t know how to handle. Her Nana\, who is sick in the hospital\, gave up her career as a jazz singer to marry a Navy pilot during WW2. When things go wrong with Luis and the instability of a performer’s life hits home\, the outmoded choice her grandmother made starts making sense. A musical with songs from opera\, Broadway\, and the Great American Songbook. \nAmy Bouchard (Writer & Performer) has performed with numerous opera and theatre companies. She found David Ford’s class at The Marsh in the fall of 2020 and won a 2021 TITAN Award from Theatre Bay Area to support the development of her first full-length solo show. She has performed at The Marsh\, Solo Sundays\, and Tell It On Tuesday\, and won “Best Up and Coming” at The Marsh International Solo Festival 2022. Amy has performed lead and supporting roles with Opera Santa Barbara\, West Bay Opera\, Livermore Valley Opera\, Berkeley Playhouse\, and San Jose Playhouse among others. www.amybouchard.net

SUMMARY:Verdi Club: Swingin' Dinner Dance Party w/ Kamrin Ortiz & His Knockouts
DESCRIPTION:Kamrin Ortiz & His Knockouts make their Verdi Club Dinner Dance debut!\nFor more than 100 years the Verdi Club Dinner Dance has endured as a classic San Francisco experience like no other. One of the few multi-generational affairs to be found throughout the city\, the Verdi Club Dinner Dance keeps it simple with a focus on great food\, live music\, and dancing the night away.\nKamrin Ortiz & His Knockouts\nEither knee sliding across the stage and throwing his jacket off or playing a sentimental ballad\, Kamrin Ortiz brings an exciting presence to any stage he’s on! Raised in Antioch\, CA\, Kamrin’s interest began through listening to 78 records with his father and being put to sleep countless nights to Coleman Hawkins’ BODY & SOUL. Eventually he was able to play the tenor sax and start searching for a sound of his own. Kamrin has a loud and commanding approach hearkening back to the tough toned Texans of Herschel Evans\, Arnett Cobb\, and Illinois Jacquet. He also plays the rest of the saxophone family and clarinet.\nKamrin moved to Vacaville in 2023\, where he travels the Bay Area and the states recording and preforming the music he loves. As of now he has toured Europe seven times and is looking at even more countries on the horizon.\nKamrin plans to further add more originals to the world and is set to release his first single\, Cavendips\, in Spring of 2026! Stay tuned!\nBuffet Menu\nTBA\nSchedule\n5:30 Doors\n6:45 Dinner\n7:30 Dance

DESCRIPTION:Opening: April 11\n7:00 – 9:00 PM PTT\nArtist Talks: April 19 and 26\n1:00 PM PTT\nOn view through May 9\, 2026 \nIrman Arcibal is a featured guest artist in the group show Roadmap\, curated by Rachel Liebman & Barbara Pollak-Lewis. Artists create plans\, but are open to unexpected and surprising directions in the process.
