Good afternoon! Here’s the latest:

The San Francisco ICE office shut down Tuesday, after about 30 protesters attempted to block the transfer of two immigrants who had been arrested in Concord in the morning. See our video.

Okay, so Daniel Lurie became mayor without supportโ€”and sometimes with oppositionโ€”from big-money groups Together SF and Neighbors for a Better San Francisco. Now the spinoff group, Blueprint for San Francisco, wants badly to work with Lurieโ€”but, asks Joe Eskenazi, is the mayor going to take their calls?

Plenty of back story here: Read Joe Rivano Barros on Lurie’s beef with Neighbors head Jay Cheng, and study our award-winning BigMoneySF archives to get the inside details.

BTW, did you see the piece about Aunt Charlie’s, the last gay bar in the Tenderloin?

More soon,

Sara

P.S. We have one week left in our June fundraising drive. Every dollar you donate will be matched until we reach $85,000.

Black banner with text: "THE CORNER STORE," "Now open," "1100 Valencia St.," "Join us for special events, just for SF businesses." Button reads "Sign up now." Square logo in corner.
