Today from Mission Local

Good afternoon!

Thousands of people gathered on Alcatraz Island this morning at sunrise for Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Musicians and dancers performed around a bonfire, commemorating the island’s 1969-71 occupation by โ€œIndians of All Tribes.โ€

Just three more weeks before the election! With your help, Mission Local’s working to inform SF voters: we follow the mayoral candidates, report on supervisorial races, talk with candidates for school board, and follow the money. Everything’s updated and online in our elections dashboard.

And the fabulous Laura Wenus continues to share her 60-second explainers of all the San Francisco propositionsโ€”so far, we’ve got Props A-M up, to help you understand what’s at stake.

We’ll be holding a D1 candidates’ forum this Thursday at 7PM at the Internet Archive. Join us and hear from all five candidates about their vision for the district.

More soon,

Sara
