After bargaining all through the night, teachers reached a deal with the school district this morning, averting a crippling strike. Failure to settle, explains Joe Eskenazi, would have endangered a proposed $1 billion school bond and a contentious series of citywide negotiations with labor in 2024.
New video shows a SF police sergeant shot and killed Zhanyuan Yang, 31, right after Yang drove his car into the Chinese consulate.ย Sgt. Troy Carrasco pinned Yang to the wall, then shot him twice in the back when Yang swung a knife behind him.
