Good afternoon! Here’s the latest:

Oscar Palma sat down with D9 Supervisor Jackie Fielder to talk about the state of the 16th St. plaza. Read what she’s got to say about street vending, the need for family shelters, and the “weird alignment” of big philanthropy and decision-making by city officials.

Just a few blocks away from the plaza, Albion Street between 16th and 17th is quiet. We look at some of the reasons why this block, home to an SRO for people released from prison, has fewer problems.

Did you see Nicholas David‘s great piece on the Scenic Routes Community Bicycle Center, the “anti-profit” bike shop in the Inner Richmond? Very cool.

Don’t miss it: Tomorrow night at Manny’s, Mission Local presents Joe Eskenazi talking with former city controller Ed Harrington and political consultant Eric Jaye about the challenges Mayor Daniel Lurie faces.

More soon,

Sara
