Today from Mission Local

Good afternoon! Here’s the latest:

After a year, the ban on street vending on Mission Street sort of works—at least during office hours. But once police and DPW workers leave the 24th Street BART plaza, it’s in full swing. Oscar Palma talks with city officials and vendors about their frustrations.

Defense attorneys in the trial of Nima Momeni for the murder of Bob Lee dropped a bombshell during closing arguments, alleging that hours before he was murdered, Bob Lee had a knife he used to do cocaine. Eleni Balakrishnan reports from the courtroom.

We’re deep in our end-of-year fundraising—thank you to all who keep Mission Local going! One generous reader, Laura Loofbourrow, is supporting us through her terrific shop, Giftology (209 Ocean Ave. near Balboa Park.) Laura will give Mission Local 20% of all sales made on December 11, from 5-7 PM. Many, many thanks to Laura, and go do some holiday shopping!

More soon,

Sara

We’re hoping to raise $200,000 by Dec. 31

We have $85,000 in matching funds for our end-of-year-fundraising campaign, meaning every dollar given right now is doubled. Will you help us reach our goal?
