Good morning!
Following outcry over bystander video of SFPD officers tackling a pregnant hot dog vendor, Chief Bill Scott said last night that he department would release officers’ own body-cam footage of the incident. On Tuesday, the SFPD had tweeted aย statementย alleging that the video was given to the media as part of an โorchestrated effort by people illegally vending hot dogs to undermine the cityโs efforts to enforce the law.โย
Speaking of police, we asked the candidates for supervisor in D3 what they think about police redistricting Only one called for a new SFPD special operations unit “highly trained in a variety of hand-to-hand self-defense disciplines.”
Kelly Waldron‘s got a smart analysis of the race for supervisor in D7, where the “good old days never left” and voters are not fans of change. What will this mean for incumbent supe Myrna Melgar, and for her two opponents, who are campaigning against changes like road-safety renovations outside the West Portal Muni station?
More soon,
