Today from Mission Local

Good morning! Here’s the latest:

An audit of SFPD overtime shows that overtime costs have more than doubled to $108 million in five years, with just 12% of sworn staff accounting for nearly a third of the hours. Joe Rivano Barros breaks down the report and the SFPD’s response.

There are limits to what supervisors can do about parking meter rates or bad drivers, but these hyper-local concerns matter to residents, often more than issues like the city’s looming deficit. Junyao Yang talked with re-elected D1 Supervisor Connie Chan and her constituents about their priorities.

Mission Local is adding three new members to its Board of Directors. Read about the people who’ll help guide the nonprofit as we grow.

Above all, we depend on readers for support. Many thanks to everyone who’s given to our year-end campaignโ€”we just need a few more donors to meet our goal!

More soon,

Sara

We are so close to our goal!
Hundreds have donated and we’re nearing the $200,000 we need by December 31.

Help us cross the finish line!
