Today from Mission Local

Good afternoon!

Today ICE waited outside the immigration courtroom and arrested six people after their routine hearings. One man, afraid of arrest, had given up his asylum case and was granted an order of voluntary removal. But officers seized him, too, as soon as he left the courtroom.

Anonymous, disgruntled SFPD officers have spread some of the departmentโ€™s nastiest and most provocative rumors on Instagram. Many of the posts target other officers, mostly women of color.

Rene Colorado uses Instagram differently: With @tenderloin_eats, he promotes the best of the neighborhood’s cooking, luring new diners in to sample his favorite dishes at different restaurants.

Hey, Liliana Michelena has a story coming tomorrow about El Farolitoโ€™s Ivorian trio, and the immigrant bond that holds this San Francisco team together. Look for itโ€”and watch on Saturday July 26, 4 p.m. Pacific Time, as El Farolito faces Michigan Rangers FC in the NPSL national semifinal, live from Grand Rapids. Stream the game here.

More soon,

Sara
