Today from Mission Local

Good afternoon!

See how they run followed doom-talking mayoral candidate Mark Farrell, as he wrested the sole endorsement of the firefighters union away from Mayor London Breed, who won it in 2018. Farrell won’t be getting an independent expenditure PAC from the union, but can expect valuable help from members in his campaign.

Just 7.6% of the city’s registered voters are Republicansโ€“but the party has endorsed five candidates for supervisor, including registered Democrat Autumn Looijen in District 5. See who else the GOP is backing.

To understand how violence, gentrification, civil rights struggles, and creativity have shaped the Mission over decades, check out the incredible collection of photos and popular art in ‘Our Mision Statement’ at the Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts. Catch the show from 2โ€”8p.m. today, and 11a.m.โ€”2p.m. tomorrow, before it closes on Saturday with a 5p.m. reception.

More soon,

Sara
