Today from Mission Local

Good morning! We’ve got several stories about people mad at the city:

Business is very bad for the former street vendors who were pushed off Mission Street, relocated to a storefront near 17th, and then resettled in “La Placita,” the parking lot at 24th and Capp. Illegal vending has resurfaced, but there are almost no customers for the city-run alternative.

Over 2,000 nurses who work for SF General, Laguna Honda, and community clinics will vote to authorize a strike next week. They say the city has failed to address a staffing crisis that endangers patients and burns out nurses.

The city’s sexual-assault office and the SF police have been doing a lousy job helping survivors, according to testimony at City Hall yesterday. โ€œItโ€™s a very rational decision not to report,” said Sup. Hilary Ronen, “because itโ€™s unlikely youโ€™re going to get a response thatโ€™s going to lead to anything.โ€ย

On the bright side, it’s a beautiful day. And Precita Eyes is unveiling a restored mural tomorrow, “Suns of San Francisco.” Stop by and admire it!

More soon,

Sara
