It’s Day 23 of the “cleanup” at the 16th St BART station, and yes, the side streets looked cleaner this morning. But some residents say police officers fail to patrol. “I do not see any noticeable work ethic from the police,” wrote one. “I see a steely presence that does not engage with anyone.โ€ย 

The Latino Task Force, born from the crisis of the pandemic, turns five this year. Junyao Yang looks at its new generation of leaders, mostly young women, who are stepping up to meet the needs of the moment.

Nice interview by Gustavo Hernandez with artist Lian Yung Morales, whose drawings of the Chinese zodiac are featured in her solo show. It opens tonightโ€”check it out.
