Good afternoon!

At least three supervisors received threatening letters at their homes and two more filed police reports after venture capitalist Garry Tan posted online that seven “motherfucker” supes should die slow deaths. Tan, a major donor to moderate SF causes and a board member of GrowSF, later apologized for his post; the supes, perhaps remembering the city’s history of political violence, remained rattled by the hate mail.

The suspected getaway car in last year’s Mission mass shooting was traced to Richmond, where accused suspect Javier Campos lives. At his preliminary hearing, police investigators said that a bullet casing in the car matched casings found on Treat Street near the scene of the drive-by attack.

Don’t forget to reserve a seat for Joe Eskenazi’s conversation with mayoral candiate Asha Safaรญ: this Friday, February 2, at Manny’s. And on Sunday at Z Space, The Rebirth of Aspara, an ambitious dance/theatre /music performance, brings together artists from Cambodia and the Cambodian diaspora.

More soon,

Sara
