Good afternoon! And happy November.

A Muslim former SF police officer will receive nearly half a million dollars from the city for what he alleges was near-constant racist harassment in the SFPD before he was wrongfully terminated. It’s the largest employment settlement to a single officer in recent years.

Tomorrow is Dia de los Muertos, a time to pause and remember the dead. You can sign up here to build a personal altar at La Raza Park, or you can bring flowers and mementos to add to the community altars. Ceremonies at noon and 5PM. The annual ritual procession through the Mission begins at 6PM from 22nd and Bryant.

More soon,

Sara
