Good afternoon! We’ve got a couple quick stories, and a reminder:

Nima Momeni, the man charged with killing tech exec Bob Lee, has fired his attorney, Paula Canny, and hired Saam Zageneh, a Florida-based lawyer with Persian roots. Zageneh didn’t show up in court today, and Canny declined to elaborate on why she and Momeni are parting ways. “Shit happens in representing people,” she said. “It’s just like that, you know?”

•We meet Jose Minor, eyeglass craftsman, who’s been grinding lenses for 50 years, and now works at the Mission Street offices of Drs. Bruce and David Stamper. It’s exacting work, but “Jose has an enormous patient fan club spanning decades,” said Dr. David Stamper, citing Minor’s “magical hands.”

Reminder: Don’t miss Joe Eskenazi in conversation with Julia Arroyo and Lateefah Simon tomorrow at 6p.m. at Manny’s, discussing the life and death of Banko Brown.

More soon,

Sara
