Good morning!
Mission community leader Jon Jacobo, accused again of rape and assault, resigned from his job yesterday with affordable housing developer TODCO. The allegations, originally made by three different women to police in 2021 following Sasha Perigo’s public accusation of rape, raise questions about the SFPD’s lack of response.
Jacobo, a well-connected political figure, has been deeply involved with the Latino Task Force, and is vice president of Calle 24 and the spokesperson for Mission street vendors. To understand why some Mission groups have not distanced themselves from Jacobo, see our back story from 2021 on what happened after the original accusation of rape.
In other news, El Farolito’s “burrito team” was defeated last night by the Oakland Roots, after beating two other professional soccer teams. We’ve got the whole story.
More soon,
Sara
