Good morning! Here’s the latest:

Several Mission businesses suffered serious damage in last week’s heavy rains. Medicine for Nightmares is holding a “slightly soggy book sale” following the flood. Adobe Books, where water poured through the roof, is also selling books at 50% off through Sunday. And the Mission Community Center for Latino Arts had its first floor swamped when a city storm drain backed up, and is fundraising for repairs. Help them all out if you can.

The Mission’s been flooding for over a hundred years, and the city’s system of combined sewage and storm runoff pipes doesn’t help. Read the back story about a 2012 flood to find out why.

San Francisco’s Department of Elections will formally certify the results this coming Tuesday. Meanwhile, Kelly Waldron has been studying all the election data, and has four takeaways for you. Check out her psychedelic map of the money stream!

We’re hoping to raise $200,000 by Dec. 31

We have $70,000 in matching funds for our end-of-year-fundraising campaign, meaning every dollar given right now is doubled. Will you help us reach our goal?
