Today from Mission Local

Good afternoon!

Jupiter Peraza started a job last month as Mayor Daniel Lurie‘s community liaison to the Tenderloin—but now she’s in limbo, waiting to see if her DACA status, which allows her to work, will be renewed. Eleni Balakrishnan talks with the staffer, whose parents brought her to California when she was eight.

Io Yeh Gilman asks the D2 candidates for supervisor where San Francisco should build the 82,000 units of housing mandated by the state’s upzoning plan. See who says that housing should be built in the district, where wealthy residents have often opposed development.

Meanwhile, over in Crocker Amazon park, the turf wars continue. Xueer Lu has all the Excelsior Buzz, with news and upcoming events around the neighborhood.

More soon,

Sara
