Dear Readers:

For more than 15 years, Mission Local has brought you independent, high-impact journalism, always aiming to dig deeper and add value to San Francisco’s community.

You have been an essential partner in helping us to do so.

While other nonprofit sites depend on individual donors for 31 percent of their revenue, Mission Local collects nearly 75 percent of its income from you

This pivotal election year we are expanding and improving our political coverage. Our goal is to make every San Francisco resident a smarter, more engaged voter. Again, your partnership is essential.

To get us started, two of our amazing supporters have offered to match every gift given in May up to $25,000!

Why is November 2024 important? For the first time in recent history, San Francisco’s mayoral election will be held during a presidential election year. This means many more people will go to the polls.

While voters often have strong views on their presidential picks, they may have little information on local candidates.

With your help, we will be able to reach voters who are often overlooked or have little access to ballot information in their native language. We publish our stories in Spanish and Chinese as well as English, and we have no paywall.

To reach as many readers as possible, we are also sharing our content with other media, including El Tecolote, Sing Tao, and SF Public Press.

All of our election coverage can be found in one place: including our work on:

With so much at stake, we hope you will join us in this ambitious undertaking by donating today. Thanks, as always, for partnering with us.

Thank you from all of us at Mission Local,

Vicky
