Today from Mission Local

Good morning!

Kamala Harris —and the attacks against her as a woke liberal from a crime-ridden, drug-using, collapsed city—may have a big impact on San Francisco’s mayoral race, writes Joe Eskenazi. Read what Trump’s smears of SF mean for our own “doom loop caucus,” and for Harris’ pals London Breed and Aaron Peskin.

Back story: In 2021, Mayor Breed was attacking San Francisco’s crime, drug use, filth, and chaos herself, calling for a crackdown and riling up voters about the “bullshit that has destroyed this city.”

A judge just tossed out a lawsuit by the head of the Housing Action Coalition that charged Dean Preston with lying about his record in the voter info packet. Preston claimed he voted to approve 30,000 new homes. The judge basically said yeah, that’s true, he did.
