Chris Larsen, the billionaire co-founder of crypto firm Ripple, is a top funder of SF law enforcement and tough-on-crime ballot measures. But now federal law-enforcement is seeking $2 billion from Ripple for operating in violation of securities law. Joe Eskenazi gets into the weeds of the case.
Aaron Peskin kicked off his mayoral campaign this weekend, promising an end to city corruption and “a Marshall Plan for the middle class.” Mark Farrell’s campaign manager, the former chief of staff for Together SF, showed up at the rally with about 20 protestors.
Eiad Eltawil, the owner of Yasmin restaurant, said he was starting a 30-day hunger strike to protest the Valencia Street bike lane. Eltawil wants the city to remove the center bike lane and restore his parklet.
