Good afternoon!

Well, Mark Farrell wants to be mayor. Again. He’s got a lot of support from BigMoneySF: Again. Like other candidates, Farrell’s running on a clean-up-the-city, law-and order platform—and he spells trouble for London Breed. Again.

Farrell came out swinging today in his first campaign event. Attacking Mayor Breed, the venture capitalist said he’d build shelters instead of “housing first, fire the police chief, and re-open Market Street to cars.

We continue our coverage of what the new moderate advocacy groups say about their vision for San Francisco—and why 2024 is the litmus test for donors and politicians who want to unseat progressives.

But November’s a minute away. First, we’ve got an important and contentious election March 5. Mission Local presents a special event this Friday about Prop E, Mayor Breed’s March ballot measure on police oversight. Come hear Joe Eskenazi moderate a discussion with the Prop E campaign and the ACLU of Northern California. Friday the 16th, 6PM at Manny’s: Get your tickets here.

More soon,

Sara
