Today from Mission Local

Good afternoon!

A group of Mission Street business owners are soft-launching “Second Saturdays” this weekend, hoping to bring foot traffic to revitalize the corridor and help people feel safer in the neighborhood.

Mission Local’s See how they run series follows a different mayoral candidate each week. Starting today, Xeer Lu is covering Daniel Lurie, who’s just hired “door-knocking genius” Han Zou as his new campaign manager. Get ready for a flood of Chinese-language WeChat messages.

We’ve also got an ongoing Q&A series with all the candidates for supervisor in each district. This week, we asked D5 candidates how they’d help businesses. Only one said, “I’m unsure of the state of business in District 5.”

More soon,

Sara
