Today from Mission Local

Good afternoon!

Phil Ginsburg, who’s led S.F. Rec and Parks for 16 years, is leaving. Junyao Yang looks at Ginsburg’s record, his connection with the controversial Sunset Dunes park, and the collapse of the scandal-ridden Parks Alliance.

Joe Eskenazi first wrote about Rachel Church for Mission Local when she was recovering from addiction, jail, and life on the streets. It’s been a rough six years, but today Church is a sober working mom who tells Joe the realโ€”not the fairy-taleโ€”account of what it took for her to get here.

See Rachel Church’s back story from 2019.
