Today from Mission Local

Good afternoon! Here’s the latest:

The SF City Attorney’s Worker Protection Team has won its third worker-misclassification judgement against a gig company. Under the agreement, GigSmart, a “family business” that cooperated with the investigation, will have to re-classify its independent contractors as employees with full protections.

We’ve got a public service announcement about what immigrants should know before Trump’s inauguration. If you want to hear more, the Latino Task Force is sponsoring a bilingual know-your-rights presentation this evening: See our events listing for details.

The Walgreens at the corner of 24th and Potrero will close at the end of February. The store is one of 12 Walgreens in the city closing next month; its pharmacy serves patients from the nearby SF General Hospital, the Mission, and the Bayview.

More soon,

Sara
