Today from Mission Local

Good morning.

Terrible news today: Randy Dudley, 34, a queer Black man, was found hanging from a tree in a Bernal Heights park. The police said there is a preliminary ruling of suicide, but Dudley’s friends have questions.

And if you wonder why, here’s another awful story: A black doll with a noose around its neck and a letter with racist threats was left on the porch of Terry Williams, a Black man who walks his dogs in Alamo Square Park. The SFPD is investigating the incident as a hate crime.

Our reporters are out in the neighborhoods covering the district supervisor races: Read what District 3 candidates have to say about housing, and then come meet Yujie Zhou tomorrow at 10AM at Juniper Cafe, 1401 Polk to share your thoughts.

More soon,

Sara
