SUMMARY:SOMArts Cultural Center: Iris Company presents THE STILL POINT: An Immersive Experience
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we transform the stunning SOMArts gallery space into a liminal world of infinite possibility. This immersive dance-theater performance invites audiences to explore the world of the show on foot\, surrounded by light and color\, as the choreography and action unfold around you. \nWhat You’ll Experience \nThe Still Point is a 70-minute multi-room immersive walk-through performance combining dance\, theater\, interactive projection\, scenic installation\, and an original score. \nFour fractured figures are suspended in parallel worlds\, each trapped within unresolved memories. As audience members move through the space\, the boundaries between these worlds begin to break down\, setting in motion an exploration of identity\, disconnection\, and the longing to reconnect with oneself and community. \n“At the still point of the turning world. Neither flesh nor fleshless; Neither from nor towards; at the still point\, there the dance is…” —T.S. Eliot

SUMMARY:Z Space: In a Memory Palace
DESCRIPTION:Theatre Nohgaku with Kunoichi Productions and Theatre of Yugen present the premiere of:\nIn a Memory Palace\nJuly 30 – August 1\, 2026\non Z Space’s Steindler Stage \nA dance at the border of this world and the next\, In a Memory Palace draws on the stillness of Noh as the spirit of a once‑celebrated Viennese couturier reaches across time. Live music\, video\, and masked performance evoke interwar splendor echoing into a present‑day American room where a long‑unspoken story seeks release. \nFounded in 2000\, Theatre Nohgaku brings Noh to the wider world by creating new works in languages other than classical Japanese. In a Memory Palace deepens this exploration\, merging the formal structure of traditional Noh with a story that opens into Western theatrical aesthetics and multimedia expression. \nFor more information about this production please visit inamemorypalace.org.
