Z Space: Word for Word’s Off the Page – Help by Lysley Tenorio

Please join us for our first installment of our Off The Page series this 2025 featuring author Lysley Tenorio! ONE NIGHT ONLY, Monday, February 24, 7pm at Z Below!

“Help,” set in 1966, is a darkly hilarious story about a nephew aiding his uncle in defending Imelda Marcos’ honor against The Beatles. From “Monstress,” Lysley Tenorio’s luminous collection of heartbreaking and vivid stories set amongst the Filipino-American communities of California and the Philippines, “Help” brilliantly explores the need to find connections, the melancholy of isolation, and the sometimes suffocating ties of family across vast geographic and emotional landscapes.

Directed by Z Space’s own Curatorial Director, Nikki Meñez, with a cast of local actors.
