Back to San Francisco by popular demand for 1 weekend only!

Tickets are now on sale for the much anticipated encore of “Mimi’s Suitcase” thanks to a matching grant in Innovative Arts from Neda Nobari Foundation.

After a successful run at Edinburgh Festival Fringe, critically-acclaimed “Mimi’s Suitcase” returns to San Francisco for a limited-run presented in association with Theatre of Yugen at NOHspace on:

Thursday, January 23rd @ 8pm

Friday, January 24th @ 8pm
Saturday, January 25th @ 2pm & 7pm

Written, performed and created by Ana Bayat
Directed by Elyse Singer

With nothing but a suitcase, trench coat, and a scarf, MIMI’S SUITCASE tells the story of a young woman growing up in 1980s Iran. It centers on questions of identity, immigration, women’s rights and involuntary displacement in a humorous and heartfelt portrayal of 27 characters in 4 languages. A tour-de-force performed in English, Spanish, French and Persian, Mimi’s Suitcase is a universal coming-of-age story of resilience and hope—at once relevant, vibrant, and authentic.

Can’t make it to the show? Please consider matching Neda Nobari Foundation’s grant so that we may continue touring the U.S. humanizing immigrants and reaching larger audiences in 2020-2021. https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=S8JZ6A5Z2A7ZW&source=url
