Red Poppy Art House: Reuse, Repurpose, Reimagine: Interactive Mending Workshop

June 27 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Free
Two instant photos placed on blue denim jeans; one shows a person sewing fabric, the other shows a close-up of hands working with blue material.

Join us to learn about mending clothes, bags, and fabric items, and even work on your project with guidance and materials from Verda Bursal. You can bring your own item(s) in need of mending and/or work with scrap pieces from Verda’s stash.
Thread and tools will be provided, including a sewing machine if you’re feeling brave!
The workshop will be entirely donation-based. No tickets, no need to RSVP, pay what you can for your alteration and/or lesson.

Verda Bursal is the creator of Waste to Hip, a project dedicated to mending and upcycling fabric goods as well as teaching others how to do the same. She is proud to carry on the millennia-old tradition of turning plant and animal fibers into useful three-dimensional objects, and firmly believes that most fabric items have more life they can live.
