Red Poppy Art House: ReroRera World Ethnic Inspirations

ReroRera is in a continuous search for “common grounds”, common paths and, ultimately, a common expressive language of different ethnic musical traditions. Then, using that language in the original compositions influenced by Georgian, Polish, Scandinavian, Turkish, and Afro-Cuban folk musical traditions.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
Zaza Korinteli – better known by his stage name Zumba – is a Georgian ethnic-jazz-rock musician and musicologist whose work fuses a wide variety of genres, both Georgian folk and other world musical traditions. Zaza is a multi-instrumentalist on guitar, bass, Georgian Phanduri, and other wind instruments, percussions, and vocals.
Sergey Prokushkin is a jazz pianist and composer with a multicultural background focusing on a variety of world folk music with South American, Middle Eastern, and European flavors. Born in Tajikistan, Sergey has been playing on the Bay Area scene since 2015 including San Jose Jazz Summerfest.
Billy Edwards is a bassist from San Jose under the mentorship of Buster Williams. Billy has found success as a sideman with artists such as Steve Carrington, Roy McCurdy, Douye, Sylvia Cuenca, Blaque Dynamite, and Faye Carol.
