Paxton Gate: Herpetology Happy Hour 2026: Sips & Slithers

We’re teaming up again with our neighbors at Mission Science Workshop for an evening on the patio with drinks in hand and reptiles within reach. Whether you’ve always wanted to get closer to a snake or you’re still working up to it, this is a good excuse to try. Our patio will be set up with live animal stations where you can meet some of the scaled locals up close.
We’ll have drinks covered too. The classic Margarita is back, along with a new non-alcoholic aqua fresca for those keeping it cold-blooded in a different way. Not ready to handle a snake? Swing by the Bone Puzzle Challenge, piece together a skeleton, and earn a prize from the MSW team for completing it.

Best of all, it’s completely free to attend. Donations to Mission Science Workshop are enthusiastically encouraged when getting a photo with our reptilian friends and Paxton Gate will be matching every dollar given during the event. MSW is a vital community pillar, providing hands-on science enrichment to over 12,000 students across San Francisco. Come for the snakes, stay for the science, and help fuel the next generation of Bay Area tinkerers and explorers.
