ODC Theater: FACT/SF Summer Dance Festival 2023

FACT/SF is a San Francisco-based contemporary dance company, founded in 2008 by Artistic Director Charles Slender-White as a platform for organizing collaborators, building community, and creating choreography.

Now in its third iteration, FACT/SF’s PORT (Peer-Organized Reciprocal Touring) program welcomes the Shaun Keylock Company (Portland, OR) to San Francisco in 2023. Here, SKC will present two works: Anthem, an original, futuristic ensemble work, and ManTango Opera Lounge, a piece from SKC’s project to stage works from the archives of Queer dance elders in the Portland community. Then, FACT/SF premieres Pivot, a new trio created collaboratively by LizAnne Roman Roberts, Keanu Brady, and Katherine Neumann. This shared evening of unique dance grows out of PORT’s mission: to foster the exchange of ideas, and the building of an inter-regional creative community.

FACT/SF’s 4th annual Summer Dance Festival celebrates the abundance and variety of work coming out of the local dance community, featured alongside dynamic dance artists from beyond the Bay. Audiences will experience an array of risk-taking short works that span genre, style, and theme in this “diverse slate of adventurous dance.” (Rachel Howard, SF Chronicle, 2022)

AND: Join us for a showing of original work from this year’s Summer Dance Lab students, one night only on Saturday, August 26 from 5-6pm on ODC Theater Stage! No tickets or RSVP required. Audience should arrive by 4:50pm and enter through the stage doors, on Shotwell St. just past Robin’s Cafe.
