ODC Theater: Chitresh Das Dance – Mantram

Mantram is an innovative work in North Indian kathak dance by Charlotte Moraga with an original score composed by Alam Khan featuring Chitresh Das Dance with Mayuka Sarukkai, Vanita Mundhra, Kritika Sharma, Gauri Bhatnagar, Ishani Basak, Srija Bhattacharya.

Mantram is a collaborative work based on the idea of Resonance, that which resonates within you and without you.

Through percussive dance, lyrical movement, and storytelling rooted in the kathak tradition, and with an innovative and cinematic score by Alam Khan, Mantram is a meditation on our place in the universe at the moment and in this moment. It is said that the first sound in the universe was created by Shiva with his damaru.

The power of that sound created the universe. How will we harness our power at this moment in time?
