Manny’s: Trans Grief + Joy Open Mic Night presented by TACT

Come celebrate Pride month and take back the narrative of this year’s political attack on trans people! There’s no better way to do that than with a Trans Grief + Joy Open Mic Night! Come share your stories, songs, poems, art pieces, laughter, tears, or anything else to express yourself in these wild times.

Trans, nonbinary, two-spirit, and gender expansive folks are encouraged to share and perform—and allies and community members are welcome and encouraged to attend! Please see important info for performers below.

This event is open and welcoming to all. Come join us in celebrating trans joy and healing in our vibrant, beautiful trans community.

Trans Grief + Joy Open Mic is a fundraiser for TACT, the Trans Advocacy & Care Team, so we ask for a $5-$20 sliding-scale donation based cover—and no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Information for performers:

Sign up at the door to perform! We will pull names from a hat at 6:30pm to fill our performance slots. Be sure to arrive before 6:30 pm if you’d like to sign up to perform! Each performer will have max 5 mins for their performance, so please ensure that whatever you prepare to share will fit within that time limit.

This will be a supportive and encouraging space where everyone’s expression is honored and valued. All topics, genres, and forms of expression are valid here.

No matter what you plan to bring to the space, we can’t wait to hold space for your joy, grief, and creativity. You are loved and you belong here!
